Greater Baltimore Medical Center – Replacement Energy Plant
The design concept for the new plant involves the creation of three major areas of the building. The look and feel ties into the rest of the campus with brick concrete panel veneer and aluminum framing with tinted glass on upper level of structure. The first area will house the heating and cooling functions of the building. The second is rectangular in plan and houses a large area with administrative office functions above. The new administrative office, maintenance office and maintenance shop areas have been expanded to increase their current allocated square footage by up to 40% in most areas. The third area includes the stair and elevator tower with its vertical element tying the multiple and varying levels of the first two buildings together. Rectangular in shape and placed in the middle of the site, the stair and elevator tower allows access to all building levels at both sides.
