Middletown Area School District recently celebrated the completion of its new Middletown Area Primary School with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by District leadership, state and county officials, community members, and project partners.
The new 180,000-square-foot school was designed to accommodate approximately 1,150 students in kindergarten through third grade. The facility features a modern educational environment centered around flexible, student-focused learning and collaborative spaces, with elements of nature incorporated throughout the design. The building also includes a new District administrative office and was designed to support both the District’s current educational program and its evolving needs well into the future.

The ribbon-cutting program included remarks from Superintendent Dr. Chelton Hunter, Pennsylvania State Senator Patty Kim, State Representatives Tom Mehaffie and Dave Madsen, and Dauphin County Commissioners Justin Douglas and Mike Pries. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to tour the new school.

Located on the District’s 126-acre campus alongside Middletown Area High School, Middletown Area Middle School, and Robert G. Reid Elementary School, the new Primary School represents a significant investment in the future of Middletown Area School District and the students and families it serves.
