AIA Central Pennsylvania’s President’s Message

Fellow AIA Members,

I am honored to serve as your 2022 AIA Central PA Section President. Over the past several years our leadership team has worked to transition from a chapter to a section of the state, and 2022 will serve as our first section year. As we have discussed with our members in the past, we hope this transition allows us more time to better connect with our members and increase our programs. Over the past two years, we have postponed many events, and switched others to virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic; I am hopeful this year will provide our leadership team with the opportunity to expand our events and continue to connect with our members.

Because of our location near the capitol and the closeness to AIA PA, we have unique opportunities for advocacy within our group. We also have several strong local organizations that we look forward to building and strengthening our relationships with, including USGBC, ACE Mentor Program, Harrisburg Area Community College, Revit Users Group, Historic Harrisburg, ABC and SCAEC.

I am excited to serve as president during this pivotal time in our history. I encourage all of you to get involved and explore the value your membership to the AIA brings in 2022. Getting involved in one of our committees allows you to shape the future of AIA Central PA.

Please be on the lookout for updates on events, educational opportunities, and advocacy updates from leadership council. Mark your calendars now for the spring and fall lecture series and the architecture expo, which will be held in September in Harrisburg. If you have any questions or suggestions for the AIA Central Pennsylvania Leadership Council, please feel free to contact me. I hope to see you at our next event!
