New Brunswick County Elementary School Groundbreaking

Brunswick County Public Schools held their groundbreaking ceremony for the new Elementary School on Monday, July 31, 2023. Representatives from the School Division, School Board, Brunswick County Board of Supervisors, State and Local elected officials, Virginia Department of Education, and Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates were in attendance.

Many of the students who will attend the new school were there to help “kick” things off and move some dirt to pave the way for the new school.

The new elementary school will be located on a new site near the current Brunswick High School and Brunswick County Tech Center campus. The school will be home to Pre-K through 6 and will create modern, student-centered educational spaces which will allow for various forms of instruction, including individual, small and large group and outdoor educational spaces.

The facility is designed with flexible and adaptable educational environments able to meet the individualized needs of all learners. The school is organized into three educational wings which each serve two grade levels and contain classrooms, support spaces and is organized around large academic commons which develops and fosters collaborative learning and small group and individual instruction.
