The Harford Heights/Sharp Leadenhall Elementary School consists of approximately 147,000 square feet, situated on the existing 12.7 acre Harford Heights Elementary School site. The building will house two independent schools, Harford Heights Elementary and the new Sharp-Leadenhall Elementary/Middle School which will provide special education. The project includes selective demolition, as well as comprehensive renovations and additions to the existing building.

 

The design enhanced the learning experience and curriculum through the integration of collaborative learning spaces. Project scope also included improved site usage and circulation, school security, accessibility and life-safety, as well as the learning environment. The facility design includes sustainable design features and materials, as well as high-efficiency systems and infrastructure as part of the LEED design process.
